Welcome to Agro-Trend

The Rotary Club of Bundaberg, extend an invitation to all organisations associated with rural and primary industry to participate in Agro-Trend 2011.

For three days in May, we offer the opportunity to promote products and services to a dedicated agricultural and horticultural audience drawn principally from the Wide-Bay Burnett, but also to visitors from around the nation and overseas.

The first Agro-Trend was held in 1978 and since then hundreds of thousands of visitors have passed through the gates while an estimated $60 million dollars has been poured into our local economy

Past exhibits have showcased the latest innovations for sugar, horticulture, irrigation and water supply, machinery, motor vehicles and trucks, livestock and animal husbandry, aquaculture, agricultural supplies, packaging and transportation and a range of other rural technologies and industries, including a Craft Expo.

With 500 sites available ranging from as little as 3m x 3m for an indoor site up to 14m x 10m for an outdoor site we have the flexibility to cater to all exhibitor needs whether they have just started in business or have been attending Agro-Trend since 1978.

About the Bundaberg Region

The Bundaberg region has established export markets in agriculture and horticulture and is about to enter a new phase of growth, with major commercial opportunities linked to the expansion of value-added processing of food and beverage products.

The Bundaberg region is just four hours north of Brisbane, covering the City of Bundaberg and three local government areas – Burnett, Isis and Kolan Shires.

An idyllic sub-tropical climate and a secure water supply have allowed the region to become a leading export producer of agricultural and horticultural produce. Crops include: sugar, cereal and grain crops, peanuts and fruit.

Home to the famous Bundaberg Rum distillery, Bundaberg is a major sugar growing region, producing around 20% of Queensland’s total sugar output.

The Bundaberg region is also a major services and administration centre of Wide Bay Burnett, with a strong professional employment base delivering health, education, community and public administration services to outlying communities.

Retail trade is also very prominent in the area, with the City of Bundaberg home to two retail centres.

With excellent services, facilities and infrastructure, the region offers considerable investment potential through the development of value adding industries.
